This article is going to be part of a multiple-part series of articles. It will go over the entire journey of becoming a successful artist on Redbubble. I have just started and don’t have any orders yet. So the parts will not be consistent new articles will come out as updates happen. For this part 0, I will describe what Redbubble is, who should use it, and how to get started.
What is Redbubble and Who should use it?
Redbubble is a print-on-demand business. That means that they create items when ordered. The designs for their clothing come from users uploading them. Creating clothing and items with unique designs is expensive. As a result, Redbubble has very steep prices. That can make certain items less accessible. Keep that in mind when deciding to use the site.
Now, let us go over who should use it. An artist that creates a lot of work and enjoys doing it would be the best fit. For Redbubble to be worth your time, you already need to enjoy creating art as a hobby. Also, you have to be confident in your work. There is tons of artist producing work that will be better than yours. It is important not to get discouraged.
How Does it Work?
The first objective is to create an account. Afterward, there is some necessary information to fill out.
The last step is adding your artwork. You need five pieces of art to open a shop.
Probably your art will need to be edited to fit comfortably. With the built-in program, it is no sweat. Dragging will move the drawing around the item. There are different size and pattern options to choose from. Also, you can select the color of certain pieces of clothing. Once you are satisfied with how the art presents you can determine the pricing percentage.
All items have a mark-up percent that you can choose. That will allow you to customize the prices of certain products.
